How do fusible resistors work?
When the current of the fusible resistor exceeds the rated value, it opens like a fuse. The component is generally nickel-chromium with a melting point of about 1400°C. Nickel-chromium alloy has a low thermal coefficient of resistance, which makes the resistance stable at temperature.How to choose fusible resistors?
The rated voltage of the fuse should be equal to or greater than the circuit voltage. For example, a 250V fuse can be used for 125V circuits. For low voltage electronic applications, rated AC fuses can be used for direct current circuits.
